Presented here is one of just 16 left-hand-drive S3 Continental chassis fitted with custom Flying Spur coachwork to Mulliner Park Ward’s design no. 2011. Chassis BC118LXA was delivered through the J.S. Inskip dealership to Tito Abbo of New York City on May 17, 1963.

For the past 30 years, it has been cared for by Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club (RROC) members and was recognized with Best of Show, Post-War honors at the 2000 RROC Annual Meet in Lexington, Kentucky. It received another RROC Concours-level award at the 2005 event and participated in the 2015 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, as well as the Cavallino Classic Sports Sunday that year.

The striking two-tone combination of Shell Grey over Black with red coach- lines shows off the perfectly proportioned Flying Spur coachwork to its best advantage. The interior is upholstered in scarlet leather with matching carpets and lambswool overlays. It is equipped with power windows and antenna, a period radio, and has been fitted with rear air-conditioning. This well-documented example was selected to represent Flying Spur coachwork on the S3 Continental chassis in Davide Bassoli’s Every Cloud has a Silver Lining – the definitive reference on the Bentley S-Type and Silver Cloud models. With just two other examples currently listed in the RROC directory, this 1963 Bentley represents the rare combination of grace and performance, presented in stunning colors with strong award history.
